2.0 Art Collective

2.0 is a Philadelphia-based art collective collaborating with artists and creative organizations to foster community through free experimental art offerings for Black femmes and women. As the co-founder and co-conspirator I’ve supported in building interdisciplinary programming such as ceramics, cyanotype, and dj workshops, as well as an exhibition and weekend long artists retreat as forms of public art. In this work, we seek to demystify the creative process through culturally relevant, collaborative art-making, while making techniques and materials that are often exclusively learned in traditional art institutions more accessible. We build opportunities for Black femmes to explore art making, curation, and theory outside of traditional institutions as forms of communal scholarship that counters capitalist, cis-hetero patriarchal binaries around who engages with art.

Black Pussy, Sacred Flowers included a vagina ceramic workshop with, vision boarding, and DIY herbal tea satchels. We were seeking to decenter gender in conversations about vaginas, so this event is free for Black femmes, women, and genderqueer folks who love vaginas, whether you have one or not. We asked that folks bring menstrual products to support in providing free period care for Black menstruators.
